...when you go out of your way to stop by the petstore on your way home from work just to 'window shop' for tank decor.

When the lady at the pet store flags you down in the mall to check out the new crabs because they got one in there that I'll love. You see a decoration/shell in a store and know exactly which crab will love it and you're usually rightYour grocery list has a hermit crab section The crabs get presents for Christmas
7 PP's, 2 E's and working on adopting 15 more :)

When you enter your 3 year daughters in a local pageant and where it says to "list pets here" you put the hermit crabs down and then have to go back and add the other pets in the house as well so that your husband doesn't give you another dirty look for just listing them and not his dog as well... When someone tells you that they are going to a pet store and you have them check out and take pics of the crabs at the store and send them to your phone so you can see their conditions and have the other person say something for you since your not there to say it in personWhen you call random pet stores and ask about their hermit crabs and thier conditions and then try to educate the pet store employees over the phone over something that isn't right in the tank....example:Me- What kind of substrate do you have in the tank for the crabs?Employee- We have gravel in the tank as well as a piece of wood for them to climbMe- Depending on what kind of wood is thats good that you are providing them with a climbing structure but the gravel is actually the wrong kind of sub for them. If you would switch them to eco earth, compressed coconut fibers or play sand you would have a healthier crabs in the store. Don't use the "hermit crab sand" or anything like that though because this is actually harmful for the crabsWhen to cheer you up your husband takes you to buy more crabs

I'm new here! But I just had to add in on this post- love it!You might be crab addict if...You go to a grocery store specifically for meals for your crabs. You own more shells than clothes. You schedule your day around feeding, cleaning, and checking the temperature and humidity of your crabitat.Your crabitat has more furniture and decorations than your house does.If you see a good deal on ebay for cholla wood or seashells, you buy it, no questions asked, because you know you'll get your money's worth.Hermit crabs aren't pets- they're family!

quote:You go to a grocery store specifically for meals for your crabs. Haha, the guys at the deli counter of our local grocery store now know me as 'the crab girl', as does the organic sub shop, because every time I'm in I order something odd like 2 shrimp at the deli or a side of baby spinach in a cookie bag with my sandwich.

If you change the picture of your girlfriend on your cell-phone to a picture of a hermit crab..I still get grief about that one..

Was there a life before Hermit Crabs?
