Grains...cooked or raw?

Post by Angeldna » Thu Jul 25, 2013 2:09 am

Hi Guys! On the food list I see a lot of grains...oats, amaranth, barley, rice, quinoa. Sorry if this is a silly question, does it mean cooked, or as-is? Thank you! BTW...bought my 40g on craigslist! My 3 crabs have been under for over 3 weeks. As soon as they come up, they will be 'movin on up' from their 10g

As is is best. When you cook food you lose some of the nutrients.

I agree with HermitCrabby, you want to give the grains raw as you do loose a good bit of nutrients from them when they are cooked.

And as crabber85 said to me once...they don't come across cooked food in the wild! All I could think was "duh"

Lol That is so true! And something I can remember! I was just concerned with putting raw rice or wheatberries...they're so hard. I couldn't imagine my guys eating it that way. Thank you, once again!
