ok all you comp geeks help!
for the 1st time ever i want to use the cd thing on my lap top and and i went to use it and guess what the cd won't fit! what the heck! here is the issue the cd thing on my lap top is raised and is larger than the hole on the cd I want to use plus on my lap top it has 3 little things sticking out on it..I can take this cd that was made for me and use it just fine at the library, it fits. so please explain this to me...

push down on it its like that so if you forget the cd is in there it wont move and mess up the cd or the cd rom

@Laurie as long as its a standard CD it should fit your laptop disk tray.Yeah you have to push down gently to get the disk to snap into place this is a safety feature with lap top disk drives it's to keep the disk from moving if you should accidentally forget it's in there and pick the unit up.If it weren't for the locking feature the disk would jump the track and lay loose in the disk drive doing damage to itself(laser burning)and the drive.You'd end up with a ring all the way around the disk making it worse than useless and the disk would jam up the tray locking it up requiring a visit to the PC doctor.

ya I pushed down on it and it finally clicked onto it, then it took off and for some reason or some how my aunt got 600 pics on it, she double downloaded or uploaded them to so in stead of 300 pics that were to be on there I had 600! & I wanted to save them to mine and then I didn't know how to know to stop it..so after I shared the pictures I had to go and mass deleted them and for some reason they were saved in several files to not all in one? what a pain it was..
