Does anyone have an opinion about using a fan pointed toward the crabitat?I've been using a tower fan because I can barely keep the temperature within a survivable range in Arizona. Also, in the monsoon season, it is rather humid here for a few weeks. It is so humid, the fan is not really accelerating the evaporation in the water dishes or substrate.Azazul seems to enjoy it. She is parked in a place and direction where exposure to the breeze is maximized.I plan on stopping as soon as the monsoon is over... low humidity is a problem usually. In the winter it seems like the humidity is easily "blown out" of the crabitat by any wind, like when I use the heater or take the top off the tank. But now, it isn't going away.

@Keg, hermitcrabs do benefit from fresh moving air as this minimizes the amount of mold and fungal growth that happens in the natural habitats even with humidity levels approaching 100%.I have one of my oscillating fans pointed at my hermitcrab enclosure because it happens to sit by the window opposite my bed and I have not noticed a significant impact on the humidity levels in the enclosure as of yet. Here in Ga we have had nearly three months of almost non stop rain so our R.H. is over ninety percent and has been for several weeks now so it's extremely muggy outside and our air conditioning systems are struggling to keep the air in our homes dried out as a result.

Before it sprang a leak I had a larger pool in my 55gal and was suffering from too much humidity. I did a DIY computer fan that I'd seen on maybe this forum or HCA and put it inside the crabitat. I cannot say I noticed whether my crabs gave one hoot about it but it was great for keeping the humidity at a good level. I wonder if your crabs would enjoy something like that? If they enjoy the breeze they might really like a fan inside their tat!
