My Crabbie is very thin!
I have two little crabs and I havent had them long or owned hermit crabs before, so i dont know what to do. One of my babies,Jelly is super thin like her little back is very wide like my other crab Booger, and Jelly's legs are so tiny, pointy and thin, unlike booger. Booger is thick and his back is wider and legs and all are soooo much thicker than jellys. Is Jelly sick or has Booger molted more than Jelly? Please I am worried about my baby.

Do you have photos you can link or post of both?

Crabs are kind of like people none are the same. They have different shapes, colors, and personalities all their own. It is possible that one is in better condition then the other. The only thing you can do is provide a wide variety of organic fruits, veggies, meat, eggs, peanut butter, honey ect...There is a safe food list split into different nutrients and such they need at the top of the Zoea forum. Provide this and plenty of fresh and salt water, room to roam, and let them distress and molt you should be good to go. Just remember not all crabs make it thru the horrific experience of going from the wild to bad conditions in a warehouse to bad conditions in the pet store. By the time they get to us its a miracle they're still alive all we can do is give them our best and hope they make it.

Its hard to tell by pics, but most the crabs I've seen are more like Jelly, so I think she's ok. I know mine seem to be that size thickness.

I can't tell by the photos but I have noticed that my smaller ones are skinnier like Jelly and as they've grown they have grown bulkier legs and claws and even within the ones that are around the same size, there are variations in the thickness, in the hairiness and in the depth of color. They both look fine. I would not worry.

Sorry getting to this so late but yes crabs are different. Crabby paddy is my beefiest bulkiest crab, while my others are smaller and not so bulky. As long as you give them lots of different foods they need and they act fine and have made it through a molt, then I wouldn't worry to much.
