just got a 20g

so i just got my new tank yesterday.. i was wondering how should i clean it and also all 3 of my crabs are down so i guess i sould wait to move them till they come up..right..i know hermie is molting cuz she had been down for about a week, week and a half and my other 2 just went down the other day. and i got 3 more coming this weekend i think, so should i keep them in there tank im getting them in for a few weeks or should i just put them in the 20 while my 3 are still down in there 10g??

I think I'm newer than you, but I do remember reading about cleaning w/ dechlorinated water and vinegar. You can let the vinegar set in there awhile then use paper towels to clean, rinse and dry.Personally, I would set up the new 20 and add your 3 new crabs to it, then after your molters are completely recovered add them in.

Can I ask how you're going to heat it? I'm thinking about getting a 20 as well. Currently I have a 30-40 uth on my 10, but I'm sure I'll need a bigger one for a 20.

right now i have my tank by my window (shads closed and that heats my tank i do have a 20-30 uth on there as well that i plug in at night cuz we crank up the AC, the new crabs im getting this weekend is coming with a another 20-30 uth and i might try and put both on the tank or i might go and get a bigger heater, i 40-50 uth but i know there a lot of money

Yeah, you'll probably want to keep your heater on the 10 gal at least until your 3 you have are ready for the new tank. Here's a uth on Amazon that seems like a decent price and would ship free if you add something a couple dollars more.http://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-ReptiTher ... ds=zoo+med

To clean/sterilize the new tank you can use either a weak water and vinegar blend with the mix being two parts water to two parts vinegar or you can do a mild bleach mix with one part bleach and three parts water.After spraying the mix you have chosen you can then wipe the tank down and then rinse it two or three times and then let it air dry for a minimum of twenty four hours this is to let any residual fumes dissipate.
