Good day everyone!
Good day everyone!
Well, C. brevimanus are found in Indonesia and parts of India. They are native to the Pacific, but I didn't know that the zoea (baby crabs) could have made it that far!You have C. brevimanus for sure. That's pretty cool that you live in an area that you can come into contact with them locally. I did a google search on you island, and I must say that it is rather small. I'm not surprised that you can find hermits there. Do you ever find any other types of crabs? I would think you might find C. compressus

yeah there are a lot of native and non-native crabs here.. i used to have a huge blue-colored robber/coconut crab but i had to release it since it was protected by our local government.
