My E is changing shells now!

Post by pixellator » Fri Dec 04, 2015 4:59 pm

It's pretty exciting after 10 months with no shell changes. Now my E has tried two different shells! Here is how I found him this morning. I wouldn't have guessed he'd try this shape of a shell.

Kacey86: thanks! I saw your thread about how your E likes to go shell shopping. Looks like other E's don't mind the turbo shape.
Anybody know how to tell gender of my E from the pic above?

There's no way to tell the gender from here, the way to tell their gender is to look under them and on the last pair of legs if theirs a dot it's a girl, if it has no dot it's a boy. I know it's confusing so there's probably a sticky somewhere about it that you can read and see pictures. :)

Thanks Pearl29mi!
And a new pic of hermie this morning, in another shell.

I'm happy that he is now hanging out under the coconut with one of the tiny purple pincers I rescued from a reptile store. I brought two home in November and right away they dove under the substrate for weeks. One of them came up last week.
