It is harder than I thought it would be when I first got them. With so many losses in just a few months.....I understand now why so many end up taking a bit of a mouse break now and then. Because now I'm wondering how it'll be in another 1.5-2 years with this second batch of girls all pretty close in age. Well. I guess I know, I just don't want to think about it now.
But on to happier thoughts.
Celyn and Rina are awesome. They're so full of energy, yet so so sweet. They're still super friendly, of course. Happy to see me, happy to climb on me, happy for good treats and toys. Rina is more outgoing, Celyn being a bit more shy and careful. They love love love some cheerios.
Seren is coming along nicely. She comes out when she hears me and comes right over to me. She doesn't climb onto my hand much yet, I just get a paw or two, but if I scoop her up she's pretty calm for me now. She loves loves loves shredded paper.
Hazel. Oh, Hazel. It's been a little over a week and she is still so so so so jumpy. I mean that literally. She's like a bouncy ball and still quite nervous around me. But she's getting better. She doesn't "scream" and jump and dive for cover when she sees me. Not every time anyway. She has sniffed my hand a few times. She loves loves loves the mesh wheel. These pics are screen shots of a video. Best I could do.
She runs and loop-the-loops and runs some more. It's pretty entertaining to watch and was exactly why I bought this type of wheel, when I saw some pet shop mice using it in the same way. My other mice would run on it a little but never really liked it much, so I'm happy to see it thoroughly enjoyed now.
