Hi everyone! I know I've seen a lot of people putting down Ashland products because how they're made, but I work at Michaels (which is 90% Ashland) and would love to buy some of their natural branches to break down and put in my little 10 gallon. Is there any way I can use my awesome discount and somehow "disinfect" them? Would boiling them help? Thank you so much guys!

Ashland Naturals
Re: Ashland Naturals
Soaking the branch in salt water and then baking @ 250 degrees until dry is the best route to follow. I had just been baking my wood items but @megmaholm suggested the salt water soak prior to baking. The salt water soak serves two purposes: it will stave off mold and will (hopefully) kill of any unwelcome itsy-bitsys.
