Hello!
Hi!
I'm new to the forum but not new to having hermit crabs. I have had hermit crabs for quite a few years, but lost most of them during a move three years ago. Moving in a snow storm isn't recommended. Nor is letting your ex husband move things. I found out he purposely left my tank outside for 20 minutes before loading it in the his car. I was devastated when they died. So, I waited a bit to get any more and as of this year I have 6 PPs in a 40 gallon long tank. I do plan on adding to my little crab family once River and Europa are finished molting, they both just went down this week.
I don't know what it is about these little guys, but I love watching them interact with each other and go about their lives. Like today, Lizzie dragged Baby's shell across the tank. I separated them and Baby walked back over to Lizzie and knocked her off the branch she was climbing over. Lizzie went about her day and Baby went back to her favorite spot.
So I can't wait to meet more crabby people and hear all about their pets.

Re: Hello!
First of all, welcome to the HCA PerfectHeathen and crabbie crew! Secondly, I love the names you've given your crabs and think I would be partial to any crab named Lizzie Borden Thirdly, pictures of the crew and their crabitat, please, as we all drool over one another's set-ups and crabbie kids.
PPs are Big Enzo, Charles Paris and Mr Pinch

Re: Hello!
Thanks for the welcome! I'll have to get some new pics of the tank and the gang. I love showing off my babies and talking about them.

Re: Hello!
Hi,
Welcome to the HCA! I'm so sorry about the loss of your precious pets. That is just awful. But I'm glad you kept the love alive (for hermit crabs) and found someplace like this where people enjoy crabbing like you do. It's nice to meet you.

Re: Hello!
I too lost all but two of my original crabs when I got divorced. My circumstance was way different, but I did have to get rid of several tanks of crabs in order to move out and move on. I have a lot of regrets about my original pets, but all I can do is hope they landed softly. I tried my best to get them all into great homes.
Welcome.
Welcome.
