that's a beautiful final resting place, and i really like what you did with his hidey. i'm so sorry for your loss. i'm going through something similar right now and i know how hard it is to watch them slowly fade. you definitely made his last days more comfortable, and sometimes that is all we can do.

darn IVE been looking for this thread for an hour!! Im very sorry for your loss but wanted to say that I just read a post from a threads on here, that quotes"from troppo tuesday july 24,2007"
"symptoms such as black spots over their abdomen s & exo & black goo coming out of their mouths as well as exo deformities..The bacteria was eating @the exo"
i dnt know if the black goo coming from mouth was in same incident as ur little guy, but the black spots on abdomen reminded me of your pictures& wanted to pass this info along in case it was some sort of bacteria infection..unfortunately there was nothing that was said on how to treat..again was trying to help & srry for your loss..
