Careful with that. Its against policy. For the reason of "outside animals not from the store have unknown pasts and unknown coditions and could possibly be carrying something that could spread to our animals" or something to that nature. I can look up the P&P for you if you'd like. I'm going in here in a sec.Hermit-Yote wrote:I work at petsmart. We take in adoptions but don't sell them. They go to new homes for free.

Oh, I've mistaken people at work taking the animals themselves as adopting out, I think. D:
Wait, wouldn't that policy effect the pets that come in with their owners?

Hermit-Yote, I bet you make sure the Hermit Crab conditions at your store are tip top shape Do they have certain people they call when they need to give them away or do they post it anywhere? I am really glad it is just a myth that they don't actually just throw them out. The person who told me was an ex-employee so maybe he just wanted to get his store in trouble or give them a bad name.

Re: Conditions at Petco
Pretty much. I wouldn't let someone bring in an animal and let it mingle with our store animals. That would just be a bad idea all around. Even if a puppy if ditched at the store we technically are not supposed to like bring it in around us or where other dogs or animals are, as, you never know if the pup is vaccinated.. May have parvo.
Now obviously all leashed pets are welcome in the store but not all up in our animals area. We had a puppy left in grooming. Turned out he had bordatella.
You can look up all of these policies on Fetch. I think it says if an animal is left to call the shelter your store is affiliated with or the nearest rescue shelter and wait for them to arrive. We can offer water, but technically not food i dont think.

That sounds right, looks like I was mixing up our policies with Petco's. ^^;
