Only Rue out and about tonight. I swear they're punishing me for redecorating heh I apparently interrupted her dragging a piece of coconut popcorn into the hide. She knocked herself over too, as her shell is a bit too wide for the opening facing that way heh

After two days of feeling like I have an empty tank, we have a sighting. I believe it was Peeta I disturbed but I didn't want to risk a pinch and stressing him out to get much closer. One downside of the big shelf is it's perfect for hiding completely heh







I really hope they start to "come out of their shells" more soon.

Awww, hi Peeta! I found the same problem with my shelf, they like scurrying to the far corner of it if I disturb them, where it's difficult for me to get them out.

Yeah, I can't see into the back at all because of the UTH/insulation makes completely dark, which I'm thinking they love Hopefully we get the Crabby Cam set up soon, so I can keep better track. It's also been cool again the last few days, so the temp hasn't been above 82F in the tat.

Love the names and such beautiful crabs ! I wanted to set up a crab cam too lol it didn't work out to well for me though. I will find a way eventually that Ms. Bat Girl won't go destruct'o and break it -.-. Please let us know how you set yours up lol. I know of a few people on here want to do the same.
Oh n idk if you noticed on your may 27th pic of Katniss....Peta (I think it was peta anyway lol) was in the ground peeking at you lol. Just at the bas of their log n almost under the green shell Katniss is looking at you see the white shell with two lil red eyes peeking at you . So cute n funny but I didn't know if you noticed that .

Thanks! Even though I don't get to see them often, I still love them heh The cam I bought will be set up outside the tat. I'm not sure of the best placement yet, but will be testing it out hopefully on my week off this month.

I went to put the new fake plant in the salt water soak I already had set up and am glad I brought my phone. We have moss pit action tonight!!! I seriously had to force myself to not be too excited and scare poor Peeta. It's the first I've seen anyone use them.







I'm again assuming it's Peeta, as Katniss is far too skittish to have stuck around.

What kind of moss do you have in there? Mine love their moss pit but it is green not white. I use Hiawatha Moss and they really love it.

It's sphagnum moss, ordered from Canadian Crab Connection. I believe it's been dried, but is still very soft.

Only one up again tonight it seems. I think Katniss, as she took off right after I took the picture, but could be Peeta too. So hard to tell, and I'm wondering if anyone else is down now, since it's been quiet in the Crabitat for a while now. They seem heck bent on knocking that one piece of cholla wood down every time I put it back up

Ahh that is why lol. Never had a chance to use that one. Idk the one in our petsmart just didn't look right so I refused to get it and use the Hiawatha Moss from HCA. It really looked overly green n smelled funny so I was not about to get it. Always afraid that it was treated with something.

Lol you can just see her thinking "Oh geez, I've been spotted...I'm out!" . Bat Girl used to be like that...never coming out of the shadows then one day Reese showed her how much fun being a Tasmanian devil is -.-. I have not had a moment of peace since . She is such a pretty shade of red, I love it.

I don't get the moss from the pet stores either, I rather hand picked etc.
I'm beginning to think it's Peeta that's been out. I may have startled him as I was coming in and out quickly.

No pictures today as the one (of three) times I went in the room he was out when I didn't have my phone. Of course I did have a "feeler conversation" with him though! Made me happy heh
I had proof of SW pool use though when I went in last. Somehow he managed to pull the fake plant off the velcro (I have them attached with silicone) and the top of the ladders were wet, along with some of the powdered foods in one dish.
Sad I didn't get to see it, but glad for the proof at least heh

Just went in, without my phone, and guess who's still up? Rue was climbing the cholla up to the second level. I swear they know when I can't take pictures!

Thanks! I really wanted more colors, so most of the plants I've been ordering have been pink or purple (my favorite colors).

Went in to put a new plant in the salt water soak, and Rue was chowing down on the worm castings. Definitely will have to order more with the way they're going through them Took a lot of pictures and a video testing out "talking" with her and it worked! I have the video uploading on YouTube, but will post the pictures for now.
