Very beautiful! Wish I had one of those. It would easier to tell the crabs apart if one choses to go into a similar looking shell.

Really! Let me know if your babies use these shells. I may have to get one of that's the case :)

New Shells!

I'm thinking about selling these handmade "designer shells" on Etsy, obviously the range of prices would differ with the size and design but how much would you guys be willing to pay for something like this? I've got lots of friends who love hermits and these are fantastic alternatives to painted shells :)

I think I'm gonna do it! What do you think is a reasonable amount to charge? It took me about 3 hours to make that one, but it was very intricate. The shells themselves cost $2-$6, and shipping anywhere in the us is about $5, so with all that included what should it be? I want to know what you think is a reasonable price for these

You know, if you are anything like me, it takes a certain person to appreciate art. I do my art as a hobby because of that! Some people want a everything for nothing these days! I would say charge what you think is reasonable, then the shipping cost is what it is. With art, it really is a labor of love. I've never made a profit off of anything I've done ~ I'm too much of a perfectionist! LOL I used to paint murals and piggy banks.

Edit: I'm not saying this to offend anyone, hopefully I didn't!

I have two engraved shells already, one of the dolphin and one of the turtle, just smaller than the ones I got today :) the turtle was BFG's favorite before he went down, and the dolphin was Tuna's favorite before his molt, they don't know the difference I don't think

BFG? That's the best name for a large crab I've ever heard of! It'd really fit an indo!
