If I recall correctly, Motor has been giving it to his crabs for a long time! So I'd say it is safe! LOL!

Re: mixed opinions on foods?
I've been feeding my crabs garlic since like 2012. I'm pretty sure its safe at this point, even if they don't eat it.
Honestly, I agree with Wode. The term healing food is really overrated at this point in time, and paints a picture of a bandaid fix to any problem. (All foods in a way are healing foods, they offer different amounts/concentrations of nutrients/minerals that the crabs need, a balance ensures the crabs are getting a little of everything).
The who gill on honey thing I think is a little ridiculous but can understand personal preference not to do so, they can bathe in water to wash out their bodies if needed and they do groom their gills and remove/wash out any contaminants that may of got lodged in.

The claim is that their legs are getting stuck in the honey and falling off. I think if a crab's leg falls off into their food, you've got other problems.wodesorel wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 5:33 pmI'll have to check. I thought brewers yeast was. The nutritional yeast movement is newer than the lists.
Who would really offer a giant bowl of honey though? It just doesn't make any sense because it's not how people feed honey. They drizzle it on other foods, or put in a popcap or small shell full. You'd have to add a ramiken full to the top with honey in order to drown a crab in it, and in that case any type of liquid or viscous food would be just as harmful.
Lamb is not on the safe food list, but I've fed it and they enjoyed it. I'm sure there are a lot of safe foods that are fed that are not on the list.
