I am a proud owner of five hermies named Leopard (PP), Ribbon (PP), Kremer (PP), Queenie (PP), and Sunny (E). I have been crabbing since 6/16/11, and have been loving and learning so much about them ever since! My family and I also own a husky, a cat, and a bunch of freshwater fish.

That's so nice to hear about the Indos. I ordered them since they also come from Africa where I once lived and since I have no access to Scaveola crabs that are my love

Think outside the box. People can get together to do a wholesale order, or there may be ways to navigate how to import.

Where are you getting the Aussie quote from? They've only exported the species three times so far, and the new permits aren't even in place to be able to mail any of them outside of the country. I imagine that the fees would be much higher than that once they get everything in place!

It'll be really interesting to see if there's an increase in aussie owners soon though!

I checked with Crazy Crab a couple weeks ago. I know they're not available yet, but he implied that they would be ready to ship soon.
I was told the AUS export fee would be $100, and since I don't have the shipping charge my estimate is very rough.
