Yep, it's safe. I think some areas carry Sakrete and others Quikrete? Both play sands are ok. Really, any dye free play sand that's clean and free of chemicals.

...
Top view of the tank
There are no heaters on this side but i want to keep it insulated, cardboard with tin foil
There are two small UTHs one medium and one extra large
I think we all have this situation right...?
Close up on a handle
Thing 1 exploring, finding places i didnt even think he could fit in
This seems to be Apache's favorite toy, but I wonder what he is going to do when he outgrows it.
These are all out of order so its awkward but there is still more coming...

Fabulous job! You'll probably have crabbies applying to live there . Kudos on the branch handle on the lid -- very stylish but earthy.

Re: Setting up the 40GB
Thanks so much guys, the fly traps were on the clearance rack at pet co, i always find the best stuff there. And yeah the handles are box elder, but one of the sliding lids broke, so im going to have to take the handle off and re glue it to the new one i get, anyways, got some more pictures for ya, this is a few of Apache testing out the little security net i put by the fogger.
He decided to climb up the fogger
Cling onto the needlepoint canvas
So now im really starting to hold my breath
But he ended up not being able to get out, and even if they get past the netting I dont think they can make it out
i am working on securing that a little bit. But leave it to apache to get into trouble.

Re: Setting up the 40GB
He was trying to climb up to the shell shop for like 4 hours so i ended up putting a bigger one made out of hemp next ot it and he got up okay
Thing 1 exploring spaces still to small for him...
lakota, up and about exploring with Thing 1 (i know their painted shells, they are Es and its killing me too)
Stitchet exploring the rock garden
Could i use this moss for a moss pit? I went into the mountains and pulled over upstream of the dumpsters on the side of the road and went over to a spring and collected this from the spring. Not sure what kind it is but my last moss pit was a fail and i want a legit one for this tank.
And my friend thought it was funny that i walked through snow melt for my hermit crabs.

Re: Setting up the 40GB
The salt water is a random dish i found at a thrift shop with rocks siliconed to the side. The freshwater is a beta cube, but its to big and i think im going to make one like the salt water. My crabs seem to use them as a hangout place more than a swimming place so i figured i would change that.YYWW wrote:Great job! Cool fly traps!
