Re: NEW 56G Jungle Paradise
Nice! still looks all clean! when i put small plants like that in the nooks and crannies they always end up buried. I think because my biggest walks over them and just ends up dragging sand over them over and over again.
Re: NEW 56G Jungle Paradise
I was going to say I love all the little bits of greenery, succulents and color tucked in the nooks and crannies, but was wondering how they aren't getting dragged around and buried!

They don't mess with them, I think one time, they pulled one out, other than that it remains pretty much in tact! They are too busy planning ways to escape too mess with the décor

Re: NEW 56G Jungle Paradise
Still love looking at your tank! So beautifully done and your hermies are adorable Can I ask how you get your cork bark to stand upright without falling over? Are they zip tied or velcroed? Does it affect the temp of the tat when your add the cork wall? Also, how do you keep your sub so clean? Do you do regular cleanings or use isopods? I'm thinking of adding both a cork bark wall for extra climbing room and also isopods to help maintain the tat, hence all of the questions

Re: NEW 56G Jungle Paradise
thanks! When I put the cork bark in, I pushed it down into the substrate, so it just kind of stayed there. Yes, it definitely does affect the temp of the tank. I have a large UTH from Reptile basisc's that covers the entire back of the tank above the sub, but it does NOT radiate heat through out the tank, because the bark is in the way. The crabs have pushed the bark out, so its not flat against the glass and made a kind of tunnel between the glass and the bark, where they can sit next to the heat pad. I had to buy another heat pad and put it on the side of the tank and also have to use ceramic heat lamps in the cooler months. Kind of a bummer, but I really like the cork bark there. Maybe I will re-arrange things in a few months. I do not have isopods, I hate bugs and the fact of adding them into a tank on purpose freaks me out. I just spot clean around the food dish when I change out the food. There are only a few resident straws in here for the time being, so it stays pretty in tact.Kermie16 wrote:Still love looking at your tank!
