Re: Alaska Hermit food store open for business! :D
Mid January is the soonest I MIGHT have more. It takes a lot of luck to find their exos since they are smaller and less common than other crab types, but I'm going to try as hard as I can to find more when I visit home! My re-stock times for exo (and other beach-related products) will be Dec-Jan, mid March, and August for future reference. I've been asked more than once about the exo, so thought I'd put that up. Those are the normal times I travel to Juneau.

I'm just happy to hear that you'll be seeing your puppy three times next year, and it'll only be a few months til the next visit! I was afraid you'd have to wait until summer again.

OH YEAH!! I haven't said anything on here, but my dad/step mom are going to pay for 1/2 of my Juneau ticket in January instead of buying me x-mas gifts, and my grandma/grandpa are going to pay the other half!! I don't have the conformation code or anything yet, so it's not official, but I gave my step mom the dates when she asked, so she could buy the ticket. I'm guessing they're waiting for some good deals or something. I'll have to ask.
So excited to see my pup! He's so freaking elderly. They actually told me they tried to to take him to the groomer a couple weeks ago! Because he rolled in what I suspect is otter poop (worst smelling poo ever, and he loves it). But the groomer would not take him because he was not UTD on his shots. So a $150 groomer trip would have turned into like $450. So he didn't get to go.

So it's not just mine that haven't touched it? The PPs demolished it in less than an hour, but three days later and it's still in the E tank untouched! (They did go crazy for the rose leaves and petals though, just like last year! )patchouliii wrote:I agree! Mine love it! Except for the picky E's
Wolf - does the Petco there have a self-service dog wash? It would be indoors and have all the tools they would need to get him cleaned up and dried before they take him outside, and it wouldn't cost much! I don't know if they would be willing to get down and dirty to wash a dog that big though.

My E's don't touch it either. They did go for the ptarmigan poo, though. But I didn't find any in enough quantity this year.
Our petco is really new in Juneau. They just came last year, so not sure. But our humane society has one! And it's a "pay if you can" thing. The problem is that my dad and step mom wont physically wash him themselves. They want others to do it. My dad is anti-animal, and my step mom is a city girl ("ew dirt!" type of thing). And my sister FREAKS OUT about hair on her clothes (she keeps those sticky rollers everywhere). I'll probably just have to do it myself like always. I'm the only one not afraid of fur, dirt, drool, etc.

I honestly still don't know what kind of crabs I have lol. Haven't taken the time to figure them out. Must have some e's because some don't seem to like it.
I had one crab sitting and chewing on carapace or something for like 4 hours though haha.
he brought it everywhere in the tank I think.

Glad you got it! Yes, that particular round is very pretty. If I had a bigger tank, I would have kept it! I hope your crabbies enjoy it! I have a small one in my tank, and the E's like to pretend it's their little secret fort.

Hey Wolf, is there a way I can order the tanana smolts in a much larger quantity? My guys go nuts for them, but when I order it only comes with about 6 and that's enough for one day the way my guys eat it. D:
