E zoea

Post by CallaLily » Sat Aug 30, 2014 11:39 am

Cleaning up the tanks today I was very surprised to find a bunch of dead zoea in the E's saltwater dish. Only confirmed female I have is Solembum. Gally and One-Eyed Willy are both male, no idea of Mrs. Penstemmon as s/he will not come out enough to share. Here are my very bad cell phone pictures. Excuse the dirty water, it was definitely due for a change.

In a jar outside to again try for better light/pics:

I took a few with my camera too but won't be able to share those yet. Not that they're much better.

Congrats, sounds like you have a happy bunch of E's and they are excited of the upgrade. :)

Don't worry, i guess there is always next time and I sure that soon you will have a active bunch of zoea to look after! :hlol:

Absolutely wonderful that eggs were there at all! Sorry they weren't successful though =(
I share this world with a few crabs, a kid, a furry four legged barking kid, a wonderful man, and a lot of nonsense. Life is full of fun, and I'm full of life.

Thank you. It was definitely neat to see the little babies and that it was even able to happen at all in my tank but sad at the same time. Finding them sooner would have still been bittersweet because I'm not able to try to raise any.

How exciting and sad at the same time. Sorry for your little losses and congrats on the fact that your Es are happy enough to make babies! :)
