Is my salt still good?

Post by Chipepper » Sat Oct 11, 2014 1:59 am

I had a bag of Instant Ocean (Reef Crystals), and it hardened apparently. It's still usable as I can easily scrape it out and dissolve it, I was just wondering if it was still safe to use for my hermies, and if there's anyway to desolidify it.

My instant ocean always harden up especially at the top of the box. Like you said it is easy to just scrape off and that's just what I do. My hermies never had a problem with the salt I scraped of the top. Hope I could help. :)

I've always just put it all in a ziplock bag and beat it with something to make it powdery again. Works like a charm.

Yep, I have tried bagging (and double bagging) to prevent this but it always seems to happen anyway. I just scrape it or break it up.
