Basket Question
I was wondering if baskets had to be cleaned or prepared in any way before they went into a crabitat? I got a little miniature one that is perfect for a moss pit from a thrift shop. Would it be sketchy to just throw it in there?
Re: Basket Question
Is it wood? A lot of wood is chemically treated to make them--whatever they are. Disposable chopsticks, for instance, must never, ever, EVERRRRRRR go into a crabitat. If you suspect your basket of being a cousin of these chopsticks proceed with absolute caution! Otherwise if the basket is made of resin wicker, throw dat in da tat!

Re: Basket Question
I had a little wicker basket I used for a shell shop for a while - I got it at Goodwill, and looking back I realize that was probably pretty dumb of me since I had no idea if there was anything on it. Anyway, it molded super quick so I tossed it and went with a plastic container. Sooo as pretty as baskets look, even if they're safe, mold can be an annoyance..and I'd be concerned about the origins/treatment, etc.
