Distilled Water?
Distilled Water?
Is distilled water that i buy from giant a good option for my plants and crabs, without having to dechlor them?
Who needs ductape when we have Eco-Earth?
Re: Distilled Water?
Distilled water really isn't a good choice for crabs as the distillation process removes quite a lot of the natural minerals the crabs need. Jugs of natural spring water or drinking water would be much better but all types of water need to be dechlorinated. I started with a gallon jug of natural spring water, dechlored it, and now just refill the jug with tap water and dechlor that.

What are you offering for your salt water option?

You can also use a RODI unit (Reverse Osmosis Deionization System) to prepare water. It removes all of the chlorine, chloramines, and any other nasty stuff in the water. I use it for myself even, for cooking and washing fruits/veggies. I know that it may be a little more expensive, but in the long run, I know it will be better for my crabs (using it for myself is an added bonus!), by ensuring they always have 100% top quality water. If you have the extra cash, I would definitely invest in one!
