Water: pool vs dish?

Post by CalicoKitties » Thu Apr 09, 2015 8:59 am

Hi guys!

Is it best to have a "pool" of water (like, a small plastic container with a ramp in it to let them climb out) to allow them to submerge themselves fully if they want to, or is it better to just have a regular water dish?

Also, if I have a little pool, does it need to have a bubbler in it?

It's best to have pools deep enough for your largest crab to at least be able to easily swap out shell water - being able to fully submerge, even better.

Bubblers are not required but can help boost humidity if needed.

Ah, okay! Thanks. :)

Also, if I have pools in there for them, I don't also need to have water dishes, do I?

Nope. They'll use both of the pools to bathe and drink. Just be sure to provide easy ways in and out for crabs of all sizes.
