First molt!

successful molt

Been awhile since I've posted, Tarz molted! I know it's a no no but i hadn't seen TWO of my crabs since 2 months ago, my tank started smelling. I bought new substrate. I gently searched my tank for my little guys, found where Tarz was and scooped a big pile up along with dirt not to disturb him and moved him to an ISO tank. I couldn't find my other guy! Anywhere! Finally I found the top of his shell and did the same in another small ISO tank. Tarz came up, he was so amazing looking. Nice hair, nice burgandy color to him! I think he was a little angry I woke him up, but I had to, the other crabs were in bad conditions for no cleaning for two months besides food and water change. Is it normal for a crab that just molted to be a little more aggressive? I changed half the substrate to sand, although it looks nicer than dirt I'm not sure if they like it? They seem to stay away from it. Maybe I'll switch back to dirt once Gus Gus molts. anyways were happy over here! Tarz looks pretty! How do you post pics?

Ive read that when a crab surfaces from a molt that their personality can change, Ive had this happen to me as well. I had an E that was friendly with the other crabs and when he came up he was a total bully!
