so i have newly purchased three hermit crabs 9 days ago. one of the crabs which was picked out had one injured and one missing leg. the missing leg had a small gel part forming in its place. this crab buried its self within 1 hour after being placed in the tank. i presumed he was molting.
tonight he has re emerged, un molted. i am concerned that one of the other crabs disturbed him by digging around where he was. he appears to be active and healthy, but im not sure whether i should separate him from the others incase he was disturbed whilst preparing to molt, or leave him be as he seems to be all right. opinions and advice please??

Re: advice please
All crabs will dig around for the fun of it, or to de-stress. This is especially common in new crabs who have just undergone much stress in the shipping process to the store. I think you should let him be, he'll molt when he's ready
They're getting used to this new place they've never seen before. They just need some time to adjust.

Crabbing since July 2013!
