Hermie Poems
I'm in a really poetic mood today, and instead of driving everyone nutts by typing poems on thir boards, I decided to make a board about writing hermie poems!!!TinyThe not-so-tiny crab,Humble and sweet,Like a drop of honey,Covers his soul, head to feet,I love him dearly,Rescued him from a shop,They yanked him of mesh,Then he dropped,Love him so,Like Bandit, he fills me with glee,I'd like to call him,Fair family!By: J-A-Eckley

From Ringo:Some of you might remember a little while back, I had to take in a hermit for my poetry class so they could all write a poem about related topics. Well, here's mine!A Hermit's LifeSoft sand, putting my legs inMy antennae’s waving wildly with the new scentsMy clouded vision is good enough to pick upThe crashing ocean wavesMy not-so-heavy home on my backMaking indents in the sandAs I scurry along quicklySearching for some foodSome coconut and seaweed, some fruits and veggies tooAll picked up by my small clawAnd thrown into my mouthSatisfying my hungerThe sun sets quietlyAs I stare out into the oceanNight comes quicklyAnd I’m ready for a new day.

Hermie Poems
From bpbatch:I'll try my hand at it...There once was a hermit from Nantucket...Who found nothing for a shell but a bucket. When trying to fish waterHe dipped his home down underBut the piece was just too big to dunk it!... I think I'll stick to my day job ...

Hermie Poems
From Francine:Here's the translation of one of the letters my students (9-10 year-old) wrote to Diogene before Christmas:Dear Diogene,Since you infiltrated yourself in my life, it is not the same anymore, life is beautiful. I am happy that you arrived in our group. Francine is lucky because she will have you about 10 years. I am eager that you come to my house because you will be fine in my home, and for me, I will know you better. We would like you could talk to us and tell us what you feel about us. I see you in your little vivarium in your coco-hut and you are the most original pet I have ever seen in the world. We all want that you never die, all of us. Don't change, you are exactly as we imagined you, the same as you are.We will provide you many bigger vivariums for your health and your hapinness. We will spend and we will take care of you. We will keep you warm and we will let you molt right. You consoled me of all my sorrows and please, Diogene, don't die. This little girl was supposed to keep Diogene for the Holiday break. She cried so much when she realized that I had to keep him because we thought he was going to molt. She was really sad, but never angry. She was true when she said she wanted him to molt right, and she knew it was important that I take care of him during this important step. I promised her that in reward for her sacrifice, she would have Pythagore and Pygmalion during their isolation time. (Both of us can't wait to their arrival thursday!)

Hermie Poems
From a former LHC member:My mom found this poem in a magazine not too long ago..I thought some people might like it...My people are so precious Lord;I know you think so too...and I believe You put me hereto love them just for You!They take such gentle care of meAnd have such tender hearts..Please use me,Lord,to comfort themwhenever teardrops start. They fave alot of battlesas they live and work each day..they need me Lord to make them smileAnd show them how to play! The world is full of people, but sometimes real friends are few...Please let my love and loyaltyremind them, Lord, of You.And when my final moment comes,Lord, tell them as we part...I was a made-to-order giftFrom Your great, loving heart.

Another from Bandit4ever70:Why are you Gone? You scared me first,The white part of your leg,Just creeped me out,Now it, and you, just went away,The grandpa of the tank,The ruler of all,Good bye, sweet Strawberry,But why are you gone?Stress? Post-molt get you bad?Found blood at the scene,Really makes me sad,Did Goliath get you?Just too strong? Can't believe it,Why are you gone?
