Testing out my new camera!

Post by purpleperson » Sun Apr 03, 2016 10:32 pm

A couple of weeks ago for my 18th birthday I got a new camera. It's a second hand, but in awesome condition, cannon rebel t3. It's a beginner camera but it's a lot more than what I'm used to! (And iPhone camera and a point and shoot) anyways, I took some pictures of a few crabs that I thought I'd share and a few of my other furry friends Image I'm still figuring the camera out though so sorry if the focus is a little off in some of the pictures. If any of you have any pointers or tips for the camera I would be really appreciative!

I don't really name any of my crabs but I affectionately call this girl "Red"

One of my newer crabs, also one of the smallest.

Kitty- she will sit still forever for a photo.

Bonus: scenes from a hike I went on the other day. :) one of the clearest lakes in the world, and it's just a short drive from my hometown! (The lake is frozen at the moment)

Good focusing! Are you using the auto or manual setting? Just curious as I'm a 5 yr vet with a Canon myself

Trying a bit of both!! I'm still working on the manual focus though.

Manual does take some time & practice, especially learning what all the settings can do for you! I'm an all manual person since my classes I've taken. I love getting the results I want versus what the camera sees. Keep it up!

Thank you all!

@krusty krab, we have no idea what breed she is :p her mother was part chihuahua and we have no idea what the father was. To her shoulder she is about 14 inches high but she weighs 30-40 pounds depending on the season! Her mother was much smaller. She was from a litter of four. She is the runt. The other 3 were all long haired, black, and were born with docked tails!
