Blossoms? Spring time in CT

Hi! I've browsed the safe foods list but I wondered if I could get specific information on tree blossoms. They're everywhere in my neighborhood all of a sudden (finally!). I hung a lilac bunch in the crabitat the other day and Little John, Paul, George and Ringo decimated it over night. Plus it made the living room smell great! We have all sorts of trees flowering at the moment - I'm assuming mostly cherry blossoms and magnolia - but I confess I don't really know what half of them are. My question is, are there any tree blossoms that I should steer clear of?

Cherry isn't on the safe list, am not sure about the blossoms. Does your neighborhood spray for mosquitos? Most city and suburban areas send out trucks twice a week during the summer (usually in the evening) so you'd have to check with your city. Are there any fertilizers or pesticides/week killers used on your yard or your neighbors?
If a tree is on the unsafe list it stands to reason that the flowers are probably unsafe as well.

Oh my goodness - I didn't think about that, thank you. I've no idea if they spray around here. Well, the crabs have survived for a week post the lilac, but perhaps I'll forget the blossoms. Just thought they were a pretty and wasted resource, and I wanted to introduce more freshly picked vegetation.
