First Time Molt for Ecuadorian

Post by ReluctantCrabber50 » Fri Jul 08, 2016 7:34 pm

Echo went down under about 6 weeks ago for her first molt since we've had her. Does anyone have an idea how long the Es take?

She is in the tank with our PP who just came up from her own molt, one week ago, and she is (and has always been) a die-hard digger. It makes me nervous that the PP will find the E.

Thank you!

Hello, welcome to HCA.

E's take about the same amount of time as any PP of the same or similar size, in my experience. I think the longest one of my E's has been down is 8 weeks, but they are ping pong ball sized so that's about average for a small/medium crab.

Just wait it out and be patient and let them do what is natural for them. :)
