Eating Habits

Post by Kkayp1961 » Tue Oct 11, 2016 12:15 am

I have a question about the eating habits. When I first got my hermies and learned how to properly feed them they ate like little pigs, almost all the food would be gone but now they eat very little. Sometimes it looks like they just walked around in the food. Is this normal?

Sometimes it can be very hard to tell if they have eaten or not. The amount they eat, and what they eat depends on their molt cycle. That being said: as long as they are going about their business I wouldn't worry too much, they know what they need! :) They also take extremely small "bites".

Hi, totally agree w Rawgeous on this one.
My crabs seem to eat more a day or so before digging down. Ordinarily I just find substrate in the food, so i know they were in the dish. Just keep changing the food and water, they are very quiet and are probably having supper while you sleep.:)
