Woke up this morning to find this giant hole in the substrate.

The pic has my thumb in it so you can get an idea of the actual size of the hole. I'm not sure who made it but this is the biggest hole I've seen.

Oh yeah! Someone was busy last night. These secret tunnels are good reminders that their world is very different from ours.

I always know that the guys have had a busy night when I find either the resin bridge or the double-basket shell shop canted on end or sunk into an enormous "pothole" in the morning

Yeah. Before I got the plastic shower caddy for the shells they would always end up in giant holes. But those were filled up. I had to constantly dig the shells out.

I love finding the holes!! That means either someone just got up from a molt or someone is getting ready for a molt (and hopefully not that someone is going down to get at a molter

- I usually try to stay on the positive side

I've never had a hole, even though I watched one dig herself under the sw pool, she back filled it immediately, and three others are down to but no holes. Makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong

Nope! I've had a little bit of both! I have noticed that although it seems like an open tunnel all the way through, mine will leave an opening but back fill deeper in the tunnel. Ur doing fab, Kieagcarm!!

I like to think if it's an open hole they are digging for fun/ they can up.

I'm sure it's not always the case, but I'm pretty suspect that a couple of the tunnels in my tank are where Strawberry and Chester sleep during the day.

Mine leave open holes all the time. Most just are not that big. They are always tiny. But this one was huge.
