My little group

Post by kfinnz » Wed Jan 04, 2017 10:44 pm

So they're not the best quality (my pictures come from an old ipod touch lol) but I've been taking pictures of my crabs ever since I got them a handful of months ago and I really wanted to share them. They were taken at different times which is why in some pictures the tank pieces are visibly moved/different. :)

This is my biggest crab SB (Soccer Ball), she is very outgoing and the boss in the tank and pictured in her formerly favorite shell  (she's now taken a pretty spotted turbo most of the time, but likes to switch between three shells) She's also the only crab I actually know the sex of! When I first got her I got a lucky glance at her gonopores!

My second biggest (and favorite shhhhh don't tell the others) is Sharky. He's a rebel picking that babylon shell when everyone else is in a turbo haha. He's very brave and rarely minds when my hand is in the tank.

He can be a regular old spider man sometimes.

Then there's Nemo, my little troublemaker. This is him in his old shell, he's now changed into a nice white pearl type of turbo.

Image

I don't have any solo pics of my smallest guy, Peanut Butter, he is very shy. Though he's in some of my group pics like this one where he decided SB needed to get out of his way he had the munchies! Get out of the way big girl! (they're very friendly with each other so SB didn't mind)

Image

SB and Sharky are pretty chummy too and often stick close to each other!

Image

Image

Possibly my favorite crab picture of them all, look at those little faces!!

Image

Lately they ALL like to be together and on NYE it was like they were having their own little party together!

Image

Lastly I got a cute video one night I'd like to share (if it will work, never tried to share a video before). Sharky's favorite snack is apples and I found him happily munching on some dried ones one night (sorry you can hear my voice x__x )

Image

EDIT: I think if you click on the image it takes you to the video in photobucket

And that's all of them! My small group I love and dote on haha :hearts:

They're so cute! Seems like a happy little colony. Pretty shells, too!
I have a 65G tank and am working on a 5 E colony

Please look for my adoption post in the thread for TX!

Very handsome little family! And, as in all families, there are always favorites (but we won't tell) -- in my group, little Charles Paris is my fave : .

He's named after one of my favorite literary characters, a borderline alcoholic not very successful British actor/amateur detective in the mystery series by Simon Brett. The books are set in the theatre/TV world, are very clever and filled with snarky British humor. The character Charles Paris is always the underdog in the acting world, the romantic realm, etc., but somehow his guts and sheer luck see him through (and solve the mystery, too). When I adopted two tiny crabs from a craigslist ad a few years ago, this little guy just seemed so hapless that I immediately thought of Charles Paris! He's still a smallish crab while his co-adoptee, Mr Pinch, has grown to borderline large.

Got another pic similar to the one above I said was my favorite. Got a chuckle since of all the places they chose to sleep during the day it was the weird bumpy coral lol!
