Weird and Silly tunneling from Mal.....

Hey Everyone!
Yes I know hermit crabs burrow and they do it almost daily. But Malibu is being really weird. Two days ago (February 2nd) She was wide awake underneath the FW dish. Peeking out of her shell and moving slightly. She then made a tunnel from the water dish all the way to the corner! I don't have a clue to what she is doing! She has not molted with me since I got her in September. So is it maybe molting?? No death smell is coming from the tank.

Burrowing is a good sign of future molting She might be looking for a spot to settle in. Has she been eating and drinking a lot? Been kind of lethargic on the surface? Digging a lot besides these tunnels?

She will be fine, just offer lots of calcium & protein

Sometimes they will "practice" before they go down. Other times they just dig for fun. My tank is full of craters constantly it seems. I'm always filling holes haha

Just out of curiosity, why do you fill the holes? My crew reuses the same tunnels all of the time. I've seen them come out of them and go into back into them.
