Post by Puoyo » Mon Jul 31, 2017 11:52 am

I want to make eggs for my crabs but I'm unsure of what to put in it. Can someone share a recipe?

You can scramble an egg by itself and serve that. If you want to grease the pan, you can use a touch of coconut oil. You can also hard boil the egg and give them pieces with the shell still on.

above is great. you can also give them raw egg w shell. each crab is different. mine LOVE hard boiled in the shell. but will eat fried and raw. these guys are scavengers sometimes we forget that. i try to imagine what they're likey to find at the shore line. try every preparation. i find they fall in and out of love w things depending on where they are in their molt cycle.

I just finished making scrambled eggs for them. I've never given them anything other than strawberries and the pellet food the store gave me (which I will stop giving them)

I just mix a raw egg, and fry it - I don't use any oil. I also give raw in the shell, and boiled as well. All are a hit. Scrambled is my crabs favorite though! :)

i like to make some scrambled eggs, for the humans and the crabs in the house, and as we eat them we shell them into a bowl and freeze the shells, which when i get enough in there, i grind up. i have a spice grinder but im sure a lot of things would work. get them to a sandy consistency and keep them in the freezer and you can offer them on top of the crabbies food as a source of calcium!

I like to make an "omlett" for them. I grease the pan with virgin olive oil or coconut oil, then crack the egg over the pan and crumble the egg shell and put that in too. Then I put some protein in (last time I used mealworms.) I also put some fruits and veggies in as well, along with some nuts and or grains. Then I cook it on medium heat for about two minutes.

I wish the food pyramid picture still worked. Anyone still have it?
