I spent some time compiling a list of shells and created a survey to help collect data on which kind of crabs choose which kind of shells.

Feedback would be much appreciated! It was just an idea that hit me, so I thought perhaps it could be helpful.
If you'd like to take it, that would also be great.

one of mine just switched into one of these
i actually don't know what kind of land snail it is and your survey seems to get kind of specific about that so i figure i'll just send you a picture
he's a medium PP
I'm fairly certain I got this shell from a restaurant somewhere...

Looks like it could be a fox shell to me...

I believe they are a type used for escargot. I remember seeing those come up here before. They look similar to a fox conch, but when you look at the end where it should be a long spout it's short and smooth and not broken off.

I went through the yelp photos of the restaurant I got it from (an asian seafood buffet)
and here are some more photos
a Yelp user labeled it "sea snails"
not sure if that's true though.

I take home pieces of snow crab leg and little tiny octopus (only boiled no seasoning I asked lol) from my local Asian seafood buffet place for my crabbies. I also get oysters on the half shell and then ask the waitress for a Togo box to take the shells home and use them as food dishes and calcium supplement. They look at me like I'm a whack job...but hey I don't care! They are probably going to just through them out anyways

Also I think the shell survey form is a great idea! I can't wait to see the results!
