Moss pit molt......

Post by Carlye.Purucker » Sun Mar 04, 2018 8:19 pm

I was worried about Ed, and apparently rightly so. I went in to check on them and found him out of his shell, and freshly molted! He didn't manage to get all legs and is missing at least 2. I found Shenzi on top of his shell beside him, I think if I had been a little later, he would have been a snack  I am too scared to move him to the iso tank, so I pushed the exo more under him and put the shell as close to his body as possible without crushing his belly. I covered the moss pit opening so the other crabs can't get in, but he can still get air. I'll just pray for the next few days and keep everyone posted. I'm not expecting the best since I've only had him for a week, I think he is succumbing to the stress. I'll keep praying for him though, advice for if he pulls through would be so appreciated. Thanks everyone

I am so sorry! There was nothing more you could have done, Post Purchase Syndrome gets a lot of new crabs.
