Blue LED light?
Blue LED light?
I was thinking of getting a low wattage blue LED bulb to simulate moonlight and allow for short term viewing. Any opinions? I don’t need heat so all the bulbs I have been finding at pet stores, etc include heat. Up until now when I peek I’ve been using a small LED flashlight but it also scares them sometimes so I’ve stopped doing that.

Re: Blue LED light?
I purchased a Aqueon Delux LED Full Hood with a day and night light. Since purchasing it I upgraded to a larger tank and just use the light attachment of it.![Image](//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180911/026dd7fde0be4ae32da978c56dae8b69.jpg)

I have just a regular household, blue, LED bulb that I have in a dark colored heat lamp cone. It works great for night viewing. Found mine at Lowe’s.
ETA: my crabbies don’t seem to mind when I click this bulb on at night. Nobody hides or snaps back into their shell...everybody just goes about their evening business. I love it!

I use this: GloFish Tetra Care 6 Inch Blue LED Aquarium Light, 1 ct https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FQT2QC0/re ... PBbEVCMPN5 I have it on a timer to come on for about 90 minutes before lights out. I liked it because it clips to the tank easily and doesn’t take up much space. It is super bright, but a folded a piece and parchment paper a few times and zip tied it on. They don’t seem to mind. ![Image](//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180923/37bcb7013f0e808d6555ee24839841b6.jpg)

Ty! Yes- it is on a timer in my room. It comes on when the moon is visible outside, and goes off at sunrise.vlahosm wrote:I love that! Do you keep it on all night?GotButterflies wrote:This is what I use on the ceiling of my crab room - I love it - it give my crabbies a realistic moon to look at.

Ah. So in the whole room as opposed to inside the cage. That’s awesome.GotButterflies wrote:Ty! Yes- it is on a timer in my room.
