One of my hermit crabs has left his shell.
He hasnt been active. Is he going to be ok or pass away

Hope someone with more experience pops in...this needs to be in emergency as the crab needs to be back in a shell ASAP...do a search on it here ...lots of threads about it

A crab without a shell will die. It needs to be re-shelled right away. Put it in a small bowl or cup with 3 or 4 shells of it's size, and a very small amount of water in the bottom, like only a couple of millimeters. Leave it in the tank so conditions are proper, and see if it will re-shell itself. If not, you will need to rinse in dechlor fresh water, gently uncurl the abdomen, and put it back into a shell. I have never done this, this is info from other threads.
