Left overs

Okay this sounds morbid but can I feed my crabs what's left after my biggest crab molted?

I was wondering that too, I can see Crabina’s left over exo in the isolation tank. Would it make them want to eat her then?

I've put them in a zip lock bag. My son wants to take them to school lol....his teacher is probably going to think we are weird.
I read somewhere the molting crab eats the old parts. Is Crabina completely done molting?

I have found a few small pieces of exo over the years, left over from molts. I always just left them on the surface and eventually someone ate them, whether it was the one who molted or not I am not sure.

Yes, I found her on November 1, I think she came up on Halloween night. I have put her in my main tank with the others, she was down molting when I switched them over to my 29 gallon tank so I had to leave her until she was done. I haven’t touched anything in the small tank since but I can see the pieces of left over exoskeleton in her hole where she was molting. It’s not weird, it’s cool to be able to show his classmates something they may never see otherwise. I do see where your coming from, we think it’s normal to see crab exoskeleton. Lol! I would think it was cool though.

How much leftover are we talking about? At the very most it should be the lowest leg segements and the entire big pincher. Anything more is usually the sign of a disturbed or stolen molt.

I can only see a leg segment in the hole where she was. She was the only one in there so I don’t think she was disturbed, I haven’t dug it up to see exactly what’s left.
