Moving crabitat
Moving crabitat
Hi all, since I have my 10 gallon crabitat in my dorm room, which is about 1.25-1.5 hours away from my house, I am going to have to move them eventually. Break is coming up and I need to plan for how to best transport them. Thank you all.

Are they buried or above surface?

Re: Moving crabitat
I suggest getting small totes and isolating each one.
This will mean you'll have to dig them up.
I am at work now, but when I get off I'll send you details on how i moved with crabs. Its a lot of info, but fairly easy in the end. And the totes you can keep for next move or if you have to isolate again.

When should I dig them up? I’ve had one buried for almost a month now and the other for a week or two

Re: Moving crabitat
Heres the link to my thread when i moved. I dug up 5 crabs, one even surface molted during the move! It was crazy.
I suggest digging them up absolutely last, to reduce their stress.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions at all, let me know!!
