Possible mite?
Hi, I observed what I believe might be a might on one of my crabs, Josephina, it looked like a tiny grain of sand and moved really fast, what could it be? I’m fairly new and just worried about her

Re: Possible mite?
Could definitely be mites. Not all mites are bad, though! A lot of the time, people will get food mites in their tanks.
Maybe check out this post. It has a lot of pictures of different types of mites that are possible in hermit crab enclosures: viewtopic.php?f=124&t=92530
Are you able to post any pictures of them?

Re: Possible mite?
That doesn’t sound like a hermit crab mite. If it’s small, white, and moves fast it’s probably just a hitchhiking food mite. They’re harmless.
Hermit crab mites are more sedentary and will attach to the face and joints.
