Shell shack?
Hey guys! Just a couple of things, 1.) How is a shell shack made? My shells keep getting full of sand can they change in the shell shack or do they have to bring the shell out to change? Also, how do they check out the shells on the bottom of the shell shack? 2.) Are any one else's hermie's obsessed with the green turbos ever since I've gotten them they all 4 have changed into only green turbos.. it's getting hard to tell them apart as I told them apart from their brightness but now they've molted haha. I have probably 30 shells that switch every other week or so when they get dirty so I can clean them... But it's always the green turbos
Re: Shell shack?
Shell shops can pretty much be made from anything, my first shell shop was one of those taller Tupperware you get lunchmeat in, I just washed it and cut a door in the front lol. They had no problem digging through to the bottom shells, and they will change right there in the shell shop, its fun watching them position the shells just right However I did make a better shell shop shortly after which allowed all my shells to be in one layer. It's a big square Tupperware from the dollar tree with a layer of moss in the bottom. I included a picture of mine for you. If you included a picture of your crabitat or let us know the size maybe someone could recommend something more specific. Pretty much anything can be made into a shell shop. As for your crabs only liking the jade turbos, I guess that's just what they prefer. Either that or your big crab in charge took a liking to them and the others learned from him. It could be a million things, from the weight of the shell to how smooth the mother of pearl lining is. At least they chose a pretty shell type

I use a shower caddie from Walmart that has the suction cups on the back I have one for my moss pit and one for my shell shop on opposite sides of the tank with a bridge connecting them. Just throwing it out there
