So…
This is my second group of hermit crabs in my life.
But these little cherubs have decided to do something that the last guys didn’t do. They have started scratching away / possibly eating at a silicone food container that I got for them (different sized holes for their different dried foods) - however they only seem to be doing it to the section that contains crushed egg shell powder for Calcium.
Is this something I need to be worried about? I don’t want anything in there that will harm them - but everywhere I could find said that cured silicone is safe for being near them.
Any help I would appreciate!
Is silicone bad if the crabs eat it?

Hmmm....I'm honestly not sure whether it would harm them or not, and they may only be picking it apart and not eating it....but I'd still swap it out for something they can't pick apart.

Thanks I think it’s more they’re scraping it while taking the egg shell powder but better to be safe than sorry..!
