1 med crab in southern ct 06820- will drive, comes with lots of supplies

Post by papasocks » Wed May 15, 2024 11:04 am

Hi I currently have 1 lonely hermit crab named Jeff. His long-term buddy died a few months ago and I'm looking to re-home him so he has friends again. I'm located in southern CT and am willing to drive a reasonable distance like to NY or RI to rehome him. I've owned crabs for years so he comes with lots of supplies if you want them, including: a 40 gallon tank, cholla pieces, coral, hidey holes and TONS of shells, etc. I love him and I've had him for years but I know he must be lonely. Thanks for your consideration.

Hi - please advise if you're still seeking to rehome your crab. We will be in your area Mon 8/12 or Tues 8/13... likely Tues. We are experienced crab caretakers. We have a 45g nicely set-up temp controlled crabitat & two med-large PP's in our care several years. Our crabs are curious, ez going & would welcome a new friend.

Please respond ASAP. We live several hours from you & timing is key to avoid CT/NY traffic.

Thanks - Charles

This is clogging up the format with dead ends & is also VERY not cool to waste the time of potential adopters... resulting in people like me giving up (which I just have).
You've been a member for 2 days, and that seems like a little too soon to be giving up on adopting a crab on here. Between this site, and my local neighborhood site, I've been able to adopt at least a dozen crabs that needed a home. You just have to have patience. It took a bit after I joined for a crab to come in my area that needed a home. Please remember these Mods/Admins have kids, pets, jobs, and lives too. They are VOLUNTEERING their time to help with the HCA. They can't be on top of everything all of the time. This site and those Mods/Admins have helped me greatly in the 5 years I've been a part of the HCA, and my crabs have thrived because of them. I don't appreciate you coming after them because you couldn't find a crab to adopt in 2 days.
