Condensation

Post by Jaydick484 » Tue Jul 02, 2024 7:39 am

Hi!
I'm getting condensation near the corner glass that is away from the heat mats. The heat isn't that high, around 75, and humidity reads between 70-75 ranging from the two sides of the tank. I've got a silicone mat covering most of the screen up top, and plastic wrap on the rest, which I peel back to ventilate and regulate the humidity. Does that sound strange to have heavy condensation with those readings?

I peeled back some more of the plastic wrap in that corner, but the humidity readings shouldn't really go much lower. The only change has been I upgraded the pools. No bubblers, though. Just bigger and higher. I do have the mesh ladders. They are also on the side that is near the condensation. Could they be too high maybe?

Condensation forms when the tank and room are different temperatures. It’s normal for crabitats, especially in cooler rooms

Ok, so it's fine? I'll just wipe it off every day so it doesn't drop. Thanks!

Yeah, that’ll do. Only way to prevent it entirely is to either cool the tank or warm the room, neither of which is always practical
