Uncomfortable Concentration of Bugs

Post by Irthryll » Fri Nov 01, 2024 3:46 pm

Hello! So I recently bought a batch of isopods and with them came a bunch of small white bugs, I believe they are springtails? Anyway, they've really taken off and are starting to reach what I think is an uncomfortable concentration in my tank. My crabs seem to avoid the ground, and this also makes me worried about my molters. Could someone let me know if I'm correct in my assumption of what the bug is and what I might be able to do to decrease their numbers? I'm trying to limit their access to the crabs food. The tank is additionally pretty moist, all the wood/nets are moist which make for a good environment for the springtails.

Image of the bugs is attached. https://imgur.com/a/9zMrWCf

Yes, those look like springtails. They are not harmful to the crabs at all.
