Red Sea Salt-good or not?

Hey all

Normally I buy Coralife marine grade salt from my local pet-store, but they're not getting anymore in because they've decided to only stock Red Sea Salt(for all marine fish and invertebrates).

Has anyone here used this brand before and is it ok or not to use for hermies?

If I remember correctly.... Cisnegra posted a while back about salts and said it was a good brand.

The right salt is so important for crabbies, especially Straws, I don't want to hurt them.

Yes, I use it, and my Straws are doing well. It says on the package "good for invertebrates", meaning marine hermies, so I figured it would be good for land hermies, too.

Just adding my 2 cents worth. Red Sea salt is fantastic. I have never looked back since I started using it. I use 50g to 1 2/2 litres and it keeps for ages. Just make sure you dissolve it well.

I haven't any way of measuring out grams, but what I do is put some salt in the bottle of dehlor water, shake it and then test with a hydrometer(or whatever that thing is for testing a waters salinity level

) until the reading's between 1.020 and 1.024.
