Im having some problems with my heat lately....when i have the heat bulbs in it gets to about 80-82 degrees, and when i dont have them in its like 78...is that to hot?
Too hot?

The optimal temperature would be a daily fluctuation.
I like to keep things agove 72 at all times, but if it gets to the upper 80s during the day (not 24/7) it shouldn't be any problem. As long as you have deep sand and places to hide. It regularly gets quite hot on the beach, up to the mid 90s. But crabs will be able to dig into the substrate to cool down if they wish. Around the low 80's F and upper 70's humidity seems to be peak activity level for my crabs.
